Daniela König was born in 1990 in Görlitz, Saxony, and grew up after her mother immigrated to the GDR from the Soviet Union in 1985. From 2010 she studies media design at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. In 2013 she received the Bauhaus Filminstitut’s film award for her bachelor’s film Peace To Those Who Try ’, which she shot in Israel and Palestine. From 2016 she regularly travels to Jordan, where she realizes various photo and video reports. On behalf of the German Committee for UN Women, she visits the Zaatari refugee camp on the border with Syria and documents the everyday life of women who take care of their families in the camp with jobs provided by UN Women. She travelled to Greece, where she is making the short documentary “MissionWarehouse” about the NGOs’ business with the refugee crisis on the island of Lesbos.
